Why do domains need names?

Theoretically, the DNS (domain name system) would still work without names, just using the number sequence we all recognize as IP address for different domains. For example is the most common which represents your home or office network router.

Yes, for practical reasons, humans need names with domains so they can navigate the Internet through relatable and functional means.

In this article we want to emphasize exactly why we need domains.

What are domains?

Domain names were developed together with the Domain Name System, to be used to identify entities on the Internet rather than using IP addresses (numbers).

Originally, these domain names that are accessible through the World Wide Web (www) service can be recognized by the distinctive form: www.<yourdomain>.com and note that I used the most recognizable domain extension for this example.
